US President Donald Trump said he plans to meet with the Chinese Prime Minister XI Jinping in South Korea next month after a phone call, in which the Chinese leader also approved a transaction under the control of the US operation.
Trump wrote on Truth Social, the call was “productive”, and approval was “evaluated” by adding that he would go to China next year after two meetings.
Tiktok, which is managed by the Chinese Baitan firm, has previously said it should sell its operations in the US or risk closing.
Trump, however, detained the implementation of the ban four times since the first time was announced in January, and earlier this week re -extended the term until December.
In his post, Trump wrote two “made progress” on trade and will meet at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in South Korea, which should begin in late October.
This, he said, after the visit to China and the next visit to the US.
The President did not submit more details on the Tiktok agreement, which he said earlier this week will confirm.
This transaction is reported to be seen by a group of American firms that include Oracle – which will allow Tiktok to continue working in the US, using an algorithm technology licensed with bytes.
Xinhua reported that China’s position is “very clear” and that it welcomes firms “to conduct commercial negotiations based on market rules and reaching decisions that are in line with Chinese laws and rules and interests.”
“We hope that the US will provide an open, fair and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese investing companies,” it added.
Speaking with the British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starr in the UK Thursday, Trump said he believed that the tick is “huge value” for the United States.
“People who invest are some of the greatest investors in the world,” he said. “And they will do a great job – and we do it together with China.”
However, many US lawmakers – including some of Trump’s own party – have expressed concern with this transaction, citing permanent problems about Baitan’s communist communist party or CCP.
“I am concerned that licensing reports may provide for a constant dependence on the new byte -algorithm, which may continue to control or influence CCP,” the chairman of the Communist Party of China’s Communist Party said in a statement.
While Trump initially called for a ban on the cicinage during the first term, he changed the course, and said on Thursday that he considered the platform as a key part of his election campaign in 2024.
In January, the US Supreme Court supported the law for the first time in early 2024, banning the application unless Bytans got rid of its US operations. The application went “dark” only not for long at a time before the ban was delayed.
Earlier, the US Department of Justice expressed concern that access to US users’ data was a threat to national security “huge depth and scale”.
The call between SI and Trump is the second still this year.
In June, two executives spoke to discuss the exports of Chinese minerals rare land, causing China to approve a “certain number” of export permits for US companies, as well as a magnet made of them.
In recent months, Chinese and US officials have held four rounds of negotiations and still adhered to the implementation of extremely high tariffs and strict export control.
The United States has already imposed 20% of the tariffs on some Chinese goods, which, he said, is related to the Fentonil trade.
Other prickly problems – including technology export restrictions and Chinese US agricultural purchases – still remain unresolved.
