Ahmed, who has appeared in five tests so far, is expected to join Shoaib Bashir in Shoaib, the first choice spinner. Bashir had suffered an injury to the fingers in July. Dawson was remembered in the national team after his impressive performances of the Regional Championship, but he could not replicate -in the test game. In addition, the report stated that Will Jacks could be the second option out of the test staff if England wants a cover for Shoaib Bashir.

We have to fund -a little. Out of that, I would say that we are quite safe from what we want.”

Rehan Ahmed has not participated in tests from the fifth game against Pakistan in October 2024, and England chose Tom Hartley, Shoaib Bashir and Liam Dawson as the main turn options. It is currently in Ireland for the three -game T20I series against Ireland.
England aims to recover ashes within a decade and improve its poor record in Australia. They have won only two of their last 17 races in Australia and have lost 13.
