Asking P4P rankings: Hearn defies The Ring’s decision, which promoted Usyk’s career hits on Crawford

Eddie Hearn says he still has Oleksandr Usyk as his number 1 pound per pound, and he feels that he is more deserving of this honor instead of Terence Crawford.

This week, the Ring Panel voted Crawford (42-0, 31 kos) in the number 1 p4p after its unanimous decision of 12 rounds on Canelo Alvarez last Saturday night of September 13.

Hearn believes that Crawford’s victories in his resume do not coincide with what Usyk has done in the last four years to become an indisputable champion of two divisions.

Alvarez had seemed poor in his last three fights against William Scull, Edgar Berlanga and Jaime Munguia. Crawford was just an opportunistic who took advantage of Canelo’s exhausted state. Turki Alshikh helped Crawford offering Canelo a lot of money to deal with it. If Crawford had to work on the title shot, it would probably have been chosen by Christian Mbilli.

For Crawford to be considered as #1 pound for pounds, I think I needed to fight these types of fighters:
