ABC pulled the presenter Late Night Jimmy Kimme from the air for an indefinite period of the comments he expressed about the shooting of Charlie Kirk.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live will be pre-excluded indefinitely,” the Disney Network spokesman said. Kimmeme does not comment on the BBC when he appeared shortly after a television studio in Los Eandles.
Earlier this week, Kimmeme said that during her show, Maga Gang tried to recruit political points from Kirk’s murder.
A 22-year-old suspect appeared in court on Tuesday, accused of aggravation of the murder as a result of shooting a 31-year-old conservative activist.
Kimmeme said in his monologue on Monday: “The gang is desperately trying to characterize this child who killed Charlie Kirk as something except one of them, and did his best to collect political points.”
The owner of the late night also criticized the flags that lie in the six months in honor of Kirk and mocked the reaction of US President Donald Trump to firing.
“This is not how an adult mourns about the murder of someone he calls a friend. That’s the four-year sadness mourning the goldfish,” said Kimmeme, who was often interested in Trump.
On the day Kirk was shot dead, Kimmeme went to Instagram to condemn the attack and send the “love” of the conservative activist’s family.
On September 10, the authorities did not determine the motive in the fatal shooting of Kirk.
According to the documents levied, the suspect’s mother “explained that in the last year he became political and began to rely on left-focused more oriented gay and law enforcement rights.”
The suspect, Tyler Robinson, was not registered in any political party and did not vote in the 2022 or 2024 elections, the authorities reported.
Shortly after ABC announced that Kimmeme was rejected, Trump said it was “great news for America.”
“The ratings challenge the show Jimmy Kimmel, canceled. Congratulations to the ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done,” the president wrote in a social media report.
Trump also criticized the two other owners of the late night, Jimmy Fallon and Seta Maers, whom he called “two common losers on the fake news NBC. Their ratings are also horrible.”
The president had previously traded barbs with Kimmel. Last year, the ABC Star, which held four Academy Award ceremonies – read Trump’s insurance deals about his performance while on stage in the middle of the “Oscar” presentation.
Kimmel’s monologue on Monday summoned criticism, including the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Brandan Cor.
The head of the American communications regulator said on Wednesday that the leading ABC showed “the most sick behavior” and he urged Disney to take measures.
“(Introductions) have a license provided by us at the FCC, and this is obliged to act in public interests,” said Trump Trump the Benny Show, Conservative Podcast.
He noted that the forgiveness from Kimmel would be “very intelligent, minimal.”
But Anna Gomez, the only Democratic member of the FCC, criticized Carr’s comments.
On X, she posted that “an unforgivable act of political violence of one violated person should never be used as a justification for broader censorship or control.”
The Guild of Writers of America (WGA), the Hollywood Labor Union, condemned Kimmel’s decision out of the air as a violation of constitutional rights to free speech.
“Shame on those who forget the truth in government,” the statement reads.
Sag-Afrath, another union, said that this step was “a type of suppression and revenge that threatens freedom of all.”
The ABC announcement occurred as soon as one of the largest owners of the US TV channels, Nexstar Media, said it would not air on Jimmy Kimmel live! “In the foreseeable future, starting today’s show.”
Nexstar said the comedian’s commemo’s remarks were “abusive and insensitive in our national political discourse.”
“(We) do not believe that they reflect the range of opinions, views or values of the local communities in which we are,” said Andrew Alford, president of the Nexstar broadcasting department.
The FCC commissioner thanked Nexstar “for doing everything right” and said he hoped that other broadcasters would follow his presenter. Currently, Nexstar requires a $ 6.2 billion FCC permission to merge with Tegna.
Syncler, the largest affiliate group ABC in the US, followed this example. It states that on the air of a special memory program dedicated to Kirk this Friday during the initial period for Kimmel’s show.
A man familiar with Kimmel’s situation said CNBC that the owner was not fired, adding that the chiefs on the network intend to talk to the comedian about what he should say when he is aired.
Kimmeme-lasting late night, who saw his program face problems when more spectators turn to the broadcast on the traditional network view.
In July, a competitive CBS network announced that it would end late show with Stephen Colbert next year after 11 seasons.
Network executives stated that this step “is in no way related to productivity, content or other issues that occur in Paramount.”
However, Kolbert invaded the network and her mother company for the decision.
He accused CBS to leak financial figures in the press and hinted at the settlement of $ 16 million (13.5 million pounds) with Trump after he sued the network for his 60-minute program with former Vice President Kamal Harris.
This payment came a few months after the Disney ABC agreed to pay $ 15 million (12 million pounds) Trump to resolve the defamation claim after his stellar presenter George Stefanapulos falsely said and repeatedly stated that the president was recognized as “responsibility.”
The jury has determined that Trump is responsible for the “sexual cruel treatment” that has a specific definition in accordance with the New York law.
After he was removed from the air on Wednesday, Kimmeme left the studio on Hollywood Boulevard in the flannel shirt and hat and drove into a car without comment.
Fans of the show, who were turning to the live audience, expressed disappointment about the cancellation.
Janna Blackwell, which was on vacation from Virginia, said the BBC: “You know, it becomes funny and stupid.
“Freedom of speech. He shared his opinion and was canceled. For me, it’s a bizarre.”
There was also a small protest on the borders of the studio with a sign that said: “Trump should go now.”
