The true reason for the suspension of the Cricket International Operations Director of Pakistan has been revealed. Previously, some reports suggested that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) eliminated Usman Wahla from his position due to his inability to manage hand controversy.
According to Pakistani media, Usman Wahla was suspended by the PCB, headed by Mohsin Naqvi, not to act quickly when the hand controversy exploded during the High Profile India against Pakistan in the Asia Cup in current 2025 in Dubai on September 14.
The controversy began to launch when the party officials ordered the two captains, Salman Ali Agha and Suryakumar Yadav, not shaking hands. And then, after the victory of India’s seven Wicket, Suryakumar and his players refused to shake hands with their Pakistani adversaries.

After this incident collided with the headlines and decreasing the image of the Pakistan cricket, the PCB blamed the referee to coincide with Andy Pycroft to not handle the situation properly and demanded his retirement, accusing him of worsening the tensions between the two Cricket rivals.
Later, Suryakumar Yadav defended his team’s decision, saying that it was a sign of solidarity with the families of the 26 victims of Pahalgam’s terror attack, linked to the militants supported by Pakistan. Despite criticism of India to play against Pakistan, the team wanted to show their respect for the victims and the Indian armed forces involved in the Sindoor operation.
It is now said that Usman Wahla lost his job, not because of his manipulation of the incident, but not to respect the team’s values.
The Pakistan Cricket Board suspended Wahla after she was released to Pakistan’s star, Shaheen Shaheen Afridi, to collect the post-party prize after India’s cold behavior.
Shaheen Afridi had resisted attending the post-Party ceremony after the men in blue had completely ignored them after the game. Despite this, Wahla forced Shaheen to go to Pakistan at the post-partite ceremony in Dubai.
Once the PCB head, Mohsin Naqvi, he learned that Wahla had pressured Afridi to attend the presentation on behalf of the men in blue, acted quickly and suspended him from his position, according to Revsportz on Tuesday, September 16.
Revsportz published in X: “Usman Wahla was suspended by the PCB because he sent Shaheen Shah Afridi to collect the post-Party Award after India-Pakistan’s game, despite the fact that Pakistan Pacer resisted the post-Partite presentation. In the meantime, the Indian team dedicated its victory over Pakistan to the victims of the Pahalgam horror attack and the armed forces, but the families of the dead still condemned him. They said that the real tribute would have been to jump the party of Asia Cup 2025.
The clash was the first game in India-Pakistan after diplomatic tensions climbed earlier this year. In Pahalgam’s attack, 26 people were brutally killed by four resistance front terrorists, a Lashkar-E-Taiba disagreement, based on Pakistan, after checking their religion.
