The Supreme Court of Kenya issued an arrest warrant for a British citizen who is suspected of killing a 21-year-old woman more than a decade ago.
Agnes Wandzhir was killed in March 2012, and later her body was found in a hotel in the central city of Garnis Nanuki almost three months after she allegedly held a party with British soldiers.
Justice Alyaksandr Muteti said the prosecutor’s office presented sufficient evidence to request a suspect in the Kenya court for trial.
The lawyer who represents the family of Ms. Wandzhir, said the BBC a decree that paved the way to consideration of extradition from the UK.
The judge further ordered the persons of the accused and witnesses to be published.
Earlier, the UK Defense Ministry said it was cooperating with the Kenyan investigation into the case, which caused outrage in East Africa.
Ms. Wandgir’s family, who left behind a young daughter, has long been fighting for justice.
They live in Naniuk, which is near the British Army Army (Batuk) training unit – about 200 km (125 miles) north of the capital, Nairobi.
