Mark Rubio solemnly opens an archaeological site under the direction of Israeli settlers

US Secretary of State Mark Rubio has opened a controversial website of archaeological tourism, led by an Israeli group of settlers in the occupied eastern Jerusalem.

The best diplomat in America was an honorary guest at the opening of the so -called “pilgrimage road”, a tunnel excavated near Palestinian houses near the old city of Jerusalem.

The opening ceremony was held in David, biblical tourism, run by the Elad Selller organization in the Palestinian district of Silvan.

The presence of Mr. Rubio was condemned by the Palestinian human rights groups that gave us support in the Israeli “capture of the settlement”, near the most sensitive places of Jerusalem.

According to the right groups, Sylvana residents have been facing the eviction and home demolition for years. Settlements are illegal in accordance with international law.

Mr. Rubio called excavations as “perhaps one of the most important archaeological sites on the planet,” saying that it made a deep meaning for people in the US. He used to say that he understood: “People want to include in her politics … But in the end, this is an extraordinary archaeological monument.”

Sylvan resident Abu -Diabev, 63 -year old, said that Mr.

“He ignores our (Palestinian) story. It does not visit when they demolish our homes, ethnic purification and exile from here,” he said.

Dick Dick made a BBC next to the broken wreckage of his home, which was demolished last year in the order of Israeli authorities. Israel says such homes are built without permission, but it is almost impossible for Palestinians.

The city of David has been operating since the beginning of the 2000s, which has been engaged in the land, which has assigned the land, acquired Palestinian houses and pushed the eviction of Palestinian families in Silvana, according to a report to the July Independent International Commission on the Occupied Palestinian territory.

Zeyev Orentein, Director of International Affairs in David, said Reuters: “All archaeological excavations are carried out by the Israeli Antiquities in accordance with the highest standards.” He refused to answer additional questions.

Excavations say the route of the Roman era, sent by the pilgrims to the place, revered Jews as the location of two biblical temples. According to peace, an Israeli company that supports Palestinian rights, the tunnel reaches 600 meters from Sylvan, which goes under Palestinian houses and the old city walls, ending close to the basics of the Western wall, part of the preserved structure of the connection that accepts al-Aks. The site is known for Muslims as Haram al-Sharif and Jews like a temple mountain.

Peace call Rubio’s visit “no less than the American recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the most sensitive part of Jerusalem’s holy basin.” The group added: “(W) the hat stands behind its opening – it is trailing Jerusalem as a city sacred to all religions and affiliation to all its residents.”
