The Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) has reacted to the controversy over India’s refusal to shake hands with Pakistan players after its Asia Cup confrontation 2025. The incident has achieved mixed reactions worldwide, and many debate if Team India’s decision was adequate.
Suryakumar Yadav sealed the victory with a six in Dubai on Sunday, September 14. He and Shivam Dube returned to the locker room, jumping -the hits. Pakistan players waited for the pitch, but left after India stayed inside. Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha then lost the presentation after the game.
According to PTI, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) filed a complaint to Asian Cricket Council (ACC) after India players chose not to shake hands.

India’s main coach Gautam Gambhir, along with members of the squad, kept discussions before the game and decided to avoid the hand. Gambhir played a key role in movement.
Suryakumar Yadav dedicated the victory of India to the armed forces and those who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror attack. At the press conference after the party, he defended the team’s choice, saying that some things in life are more important than sportsmanship.
A high BCCI official stated that there is no rule that would require players to shake hands with the opposition after a game. The officer added that the Indian team chose not to extend the courtesy in the background of Pahalgam’s horror attack earlier this year.
“Look, if you read the Rule Book, there is no specification about the hand with the opposition. It is a gesture of goodwill and a kind of convention, not the law, which is followed worldwide through the sports spectrum,” said a high BCCI official in PTI.
“If there is no law, the Indian cricket team is not obliged to shake hands with an opposition with whom there is a background of a tense relationship,” added the official.
India is likely to continue to prevent Pakistan in the future encounters during the Asia Cup. Blue men are expected to face Pakistan in Super Four shock next Sunday. It is also possible for both teams to meet again in the final of September 28 if they are ranked.
When speaking of the game, Pakistan won the launch and chose to christen first, but fought against the Indian disciplined bowls. They managed to score only 127/9 in 20 points, with Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah maintaining the pressure throughout the entry by collecting key doctors.
Having 128, Abhishek Sharma gave India a flight start with 30 of 13 balls, while Suryakumar Yadav remained uninitive at 47 runs of 37 balls. The blue men completed the persecution at 15.5 points. Above all, he was India’s eleventh victory over Pakistan in 20 Asia Cup games through Hate Formats and T20I.
