The President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and the President of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, reacted to India’s refusal to shake hands with Pakistani players after the Asia Cup match 2025. Naqvi expressed his disappointment for men in Blue’s gesture, adding that politics should not be carried out.

“Today disappointing to witness the lack of sportsmanship. Draging politics to the game goes against the spirit of sports. We hope that all teams will celebrate future victories with grace,” he wrote to X (formerly known as Twitter).
Pakistan also reacted to the No-Handshake incident. Captain Salman Ali Agha was absent from the post-party presentation, which added to the speculations on the emotional toll of the defeat and the controversy over the decision on the side of Suryakumar Yadav of skipping the hits.
There was no hand between India and Pakistan after his clash of the Asia Cup 2025. Pakistan players headed for the Indian dressing room, but the doors were closed.
During the presentation ceremony and later at the press conference, Suryakumar Yadav clarified that Non-Handshake’s gesture was linked to Pahalgam’s horror attack.
“Our government and BCCI were aligned. We came here and called. We came here just to play the game. We gave the right answer. Few things in life are ahead of the athlete,” said Suryakumar.
Before the game, the calls for a boycott had already reached the Indian dressing room. It will not be the only meeting among the archivals of the tournament, as it is expected that they will meet again in the Super 4 stage.
