Coach Brian ‘Bomac’ Mcintyre rejected the possibility that Terence Crawford would fight against David Benavidez after Bud’s victory over Canelo Alvarez last Saturday night.
“Bomac” says that Crawford (42-0, 31 kos) will not fight against Benavidez, nor will the belts of the Super Media championship stand out. He claims that they sit with the titles, wait and return to the gym.
Turki Alshikh published it in social media Last night: “David Benavidez can still make 168 pounds?”
Fans interpreted this comment to mean that Turki wants Benavidez for the first Crawford defense of his indisputable middle weight championship. It makes sense because it is a struggle that would sell to the North -American public.
If Crawford and Bomac have ideas to collect a contestant in 168 to fight below, hoping to raise similar money he received for Canelo, it does not happen. Turki’s publication on Benavidez is that he realized that a struggle between him and Crawford would sell PPV.
“Bomac” probably hopes that Turki Alshikh will offer Crawford a resuscitation with Canelo (63-3-2, 39 kos), Jermall Charlo inactive or a fight against the contestant number 1 of 168 pounds WBC Hamzah Sheeraz. These will be huge days of payment for Crawford and struggles that would have a good opportunity to win.
Rugged struggles by bud
“No, we don’t make this struggle,” said coach Brian ‘Bomac’ Mcintyre Fighthype When asked if Terence Crawford would agree to fight David Benavidez.
“No, we will not leave the belts. We are just going to sit where we have to sit for a minute and then return to the gym,” said Bomac.
Crawford may have to start vacating the titles soon because Osleys Iglesias is already mandatory IBF. If IBF orders you to fight, I don’t think Terence agreed to confront him. The SouthPaw Iglesias punctures too much and has the upper dagger and the reach to land from the outside.
Bomac dismisses “boots” ennis
“He does not want this,” said “Bomac” when asked if Crawford could fight Jaron “boots” ennis. “It’s not a Bud Crawford. Bringing it was good for Canelo, but he did nothing in the struggle,” Mcintyre said about Alvarez who had taken Ennis to help him prepare for Crawford.
This is a way to avoid a risky opponent. Say, “You don’t want that.” The truth is that Ennis wants to fight against Crawford and will make this fight if it were offered.
Ennis promoter Eddie Hearn has already said they will fight against Crawford. They want this struggle and would jump to the possibility of fighting it.
“If I were Terence Crawford, I would give up on the belt. Because when we are required, we will push this struggle and have to be evicted,” said Hearn to Ring Magazine about Ennis fighting a 154-pound titles eliminator after Uisma Lima on October 11, 2025.
