Terence Crawford -oriented victory over a four -belts four -belts champion, Canelo Alvarez, last Saturday night was not good enough to show fans who belong to the Mount Rushmore on boxing on the fantastic list of all time.
Benavidez is the true test
Crawford has to defeat David Benavidez Because he shows that he deserves to be seen as a true big one. Is this too much to ask? There is no difference in size between Crawford and Benavidez that is not inches in height for the 6’2 “Mexican monster. Both have an identical range of 74 1/2”.
We have seen that Crawford beat a faded channel to pick up the four belts at the same time to stay indisputable in 168, and we saw him do the same against the 2019 post-Cotxe fall version, capturing three belts to get this feat to 147. Again, again, again, again
Alvarez and Spence faded when Crawford fought. Casual fans would not know or hardcore boxing fans who do not bother to examine the physical condition of Bud’s opponents. What we want to see now is if Crawford can overcome a fighter at first of his career to David Benavidez (30-0, 24 kos).
Turki Alshikh must forget to pour money into a resale between Canelo and Crawford. Instead of doing it, it must focus on establishing a struggle between Crawford and Benavidez.
Predictably, Terence will refuse to fight Benavidez if he offers Turki. But if this is the only option given to it so that it is not achieved, I would have no choice. We need to show that Terence can overcome a real young Fighter Apex. We have seen that it can already overcome the faded fighters. I want to see if Crawford can overcome a talent in the Zenith of his career to show that he is not a calculated fighter who carefully selects his opponents in his most vulnerable state in his career.
Terence did not start to show great interest in fighting Spence until after its car accident in 2019. He did not start a strong campaign to fight Canelo until his poor performance in 2024 against Jaime Munguia and Edgar Berlanga.
Crawford’s victory over Canelo was too much to run so that it was considered worthy of being on the list of all time. Beyond the reality that Canelo is no longer in its beginning and it appears as a shell of its ancient self, the Crawford movement was the opposite of how great fighters of all time fight.
