Malcolm-Jamal WarnerWidow, Tenisha Warnerrevealed his identity and addressed his tragic death earlier this year.
Tenisha took to Instagram On Friday, September 12, to share a joyful picture of her wedding in 2017 to Malcolm-Jamal, who died in July After drowning while on holiday with his family in Costa Rica. Her late husband was 54.
“Thank you for holding us in so much love during this gentle time, ”wrote Tenisha in a headline.” Tomorrow marks our birthday – and my heart is open. For the first time, I share a glimpse of the love that started it all. “
He continued, “I can still hear my husband, still feel the way in which he made a place for every part of me – every tear, every dream. Today, in honor of him, my daughter and I are launching River & Ember and officially opening the Warner Family Foundation.”
Tenisha said, “Together we carry the legacy that my husband and I – one that fostering children’s inner light and gave young artists the freedom to create outside the lines. This is love, still moving. Still moving. Still doing our carry on.”
In his post, Tenisha included an image of a longer statement about the new venture, writing, “River & Ember was born not only from my knowledge as a psychology doctor, but from my own journey with grief and love.
He added, “River & Ember began with two simple forces: the constant flow that carries us on, and the quiet warmth that kept us alive.
“Malcolm-Jamal’s spirit was an ember-shining with encouragement, firing a possibility in those around it. Her way of seeing the world-bodily inner light children are worth inclined with care and consistency-is the heartbeat of everything we create here.”
Tenisha received thousands of supporting messages in the comments section.
