United by trauma
Danny and Baez bonded during season 11, chapter 1, after being caught hostages by a serial murderer in a basement together. Eventually, Danny managed to get them both for free, after which they both said, “I love you,” signing their deep connection as friends and partners. Then they exchanged looks, some fans thought they suggested they had deeper feelings towards each other.

During the same season 11 episode, “Triumph Over Trauma,” Baez was finally invited to Reagan’s family lunch. She was a turning point in her relationship with Danny.

During the end of season 12, Baez adopted a little girl after her mother was killed in a bomb blast. Danny was supportive of his partner from the beginning, telling her, “Well, (the baby) very lucky because you were going to make one hell of mother.”
Baez replied, “I hope so. I never thought I wanted children, but after seeing her, I couldn’t stop thinking about her.” Danny promised to support her journey, adding, “If you need anything, I never want you.”
