Wbo heavy weight champion Anthony Olascuaga did not waste time in Miami. He hit, cornered and defeated Juan Carlos Camacho-Rivera in two rounds at the Fontainebleau Hotel and Casino, heading the Dazn Dazn pilot episode of his new “underdog” series.
Camacho tried to move, he tried to dance around the fire in the starting round. Lasted three minutes. In the second, Olascuaga cut the ring, nailed it and unloaded a two -fold assault that left Camacho frozen in the corner. Referee Harvey Dock entered at 2:36 round. Olascuaga moves to 10-1 (7 kos). Camacho, exposed, falls at 19-2 (8 kos).
Now the obvious question: Unification. With Ricardo Sandoval with the WBC and WBA straps, Olascuaga could go directly to a three belt war in 2026.
In Lightweight, Justin Viloria (10-0, 7 kos) looked like the future and Joshafat Ortiz (13-2, 6 kos) looked like the past. Eight unilateral rounds, all three cards 80-72. Viloria barely sweat and maintains her unbeaten tag intact.
Jalil Hackett (10-1, 8 kos) needed to show that he did not break after his first loss and nine months. It was shown by devastating the vineyards Elijah (8-1, 7 kos) in three wild rounds. Two eliminations, relentless pressure and a mercy of a referee in: 33 of the third. Hackett has returned to business.
Not all struggles delivered. Jamar Talley (4-0, 3 kos) and Anthony Holloway (9-9-3, 7 kos) went through six rounds that no one will remember. Without urgency, without danger, only the rounds were filled. The judges scored it for Talley, 59-55 and 60-54 twice. It remains unbeaten, but fans deserve better.
The workshop had more advantage. Emiliano Alvarado (9-0, 5 kos) and Juan Garcia (7-1, 2 kos) marketed control. Garcia started in clear, but Alvarado’s late push rose his eyes and became a moment. The judges gave the majority: 57-57, 58-56, 60-54. Alvarado remains perfect, Garcia takes his first loss.
Fontainebleau’s debut was a test launch. Dazn’s “underdog” officially begins in January 2026, and this card showed the good and bad. Olascuaga looked like a champion ready for unification. Viloria and Hackett showed why you care about young blood. Talley-Holloway showed why fans are in tune in when the heavy coast.
If Dazn is serious about this series “underdog”, they will need more nights like the Ocuaga demolition and less Sleepwalkers in the bill. Fans know the difference.
