Teen Mother 2’s KaiLyn Lowry He opened honestly for tackling heavy woe, neck lift recovery and raising seven children at the same time.
Speaking on the episode of Thursday, September 11 of Podcast “coffee with you,” Lowry, 33, detailed how she got her period in recovering from neck lift surgery, which caused more issues than she expected.
“I pleaded through everything,” revealed Lowry. “I seriously underestimated the healing of a neck lift”
The TV star added reality, “I have been fighting for my life.”
Lowry added that her parenting responsibilities add another battle as she remembers bleeding while taking five her children to the dentist. (Lowry shares Elliott, 15, with Jo riveraLincoln, 11, with Javi Marroquin and Lux, 8, and Creed, 5, with Chris Lopez. The podcast host and Elias Scott Rio also welcomed in 2022 and announced the birth of twins and valley verse in 2024.)
Then the leakage issue was worsened when she was unable to change before having to drop her children at school.
“I pleaded through my clothes with my period … I pleaded through everything,” admitted Lowry. “I had to enter the schools like that”
Lowry added that it had been some time since she had last similar concern with her period, but the matter had returned.
“I had mainly controlled,” he said. “And now I’m back to bleeding through my things three times a day. I’ve been wearing men’s boxer briefs to keep a pad in place with a tampon in.”

(Photo by Jon Kopaloff/Getty Images)The honest admission is not the first time Lowry has spoken publicly about her time. In the past, she has encouraged parents to educate their children, especially their sons, about the menstruation.
“Learn your sons for periods because we’re on holiday and unexpectedly I got my time,” Lowry said in a video posted via Tiktok in April. “Now I would not normally go out for this, but I have four of my boys with me on my own.”
KaiLyn Lowry has shared an update on her recovery following a belly review. “We are 5 days after-op,” said Lowry, 32, in a video shared via Tiktok on Saturday, February 2, adding, “I try to tighten pain meds, don’t want to get trapped. I’m very uncomfortable.
Lowry has polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and because of this condition, it has inconsistent phase cycles. Because her periods can be so unexpected, she is open with her own children in case she needs their help with an unplanned arrival.
“So thankfully, they know what to look if I had some aunt’s flow crisis,” explained Lowry. “Isaac or Lincoln could go to the store for me and grab something.”
He added, “If we were out around, I wouldn’t have any shame asking my eldest son to check me. For sometimes you don’t know if you drop through things.”
