Chelsea Face 74 holds on the agent’s payments

The Chelsea has been accused of 74 breaches of the Rules of the Football Association related to payments to agents between 2009 and 2022.

The positions are mainly focused on the events that took place between the 2010-11 and 2015-16 seasons, when Roman Abramovich owned the club and the agents of concern, intermediaries and third-party investments in players.

Abramovich owned Chelsea from 2003 to 2022, When the club was sold to a consortium in front of Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

Chelsea has until September 19 to respond to charges.

A statement from the FA said: “ The football association has collected Chelsea FC today for breaches of the regulations J1 and C2 of the FA Football Agents Regulation, Regulation A2 and A3 of the FA Regulation on work with intermediaries and regulations A1 and B3 of the investment of third parties in players regulations.

“In total, 74 charges against Chelsea FC have been submitted. The conduct that is the subject of expenses ranges from 2009 to 2022 and is mainly related to events that occurred between 11/11 in 2015/16. The Chelsea FC has until September 19, 2025 to respond.”

A statement from Chelsea said that the club had self -reported the problems they discovered during the property group diligence process and worked collaboratively with the FA.

“The Chelsea FC is pleased to confirm that its commitment to the Fa on issues that were self -reported by the club now comes to a conclusion,” he read.

“ The Club’s property group completed the club’s purchase on May 30, 2022. During a due diligence process before the end of the purchase, the property group became aware of potentially violated financial reports on historical transactions and other possible breaches of the FA rules. After the purchase was completed, the club was self -reporting in these affairs to all relevant regulators.

“The club has shown unprecedented transparency during this process, including full access to club files and historical data.

“We will continue to work collaboratively with the FA to conclude this question as quickly as possible. We want to register our gratitude for the FA for its commitment to the club in this complex case, whose focus has been on issues that took place more than a decade ago.”
