The New York Yankees caught a moment of silence for Charlie Kirk in the skill his sudden death.
The controversial political commentator was fatally shot on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, when speaking at the University of Utah Valley in Orem, Utah. It was 31.
The Kirk baseball team honored before his game on Wednesday against the Detroit Tigers at Yankee Stadium. In addition to the moment of silence, the team paid tribute to Kirk by displaying a picture of him on the Jumbotron alongside the words “Remember Charlie Kirk.”
“Before tonight’s game we held a moment of silence in Charlie Kirk’s memory,” The New York Yankees posted by the team’s official X account.

“Kirk founded the youth activist group in ‘Turning Point Usa’ and had become a college campus. Charlie Kirk, a husband and father of two children, was 31 years old.”
Kirk was shot at about 1:20 pm local time as he spoke at university as part of his American Comeback tour. Photos shared on social media showed that Kirk appeared to be shot in the neck while speaking under a tent at the University Court.
Manhunt for the shooter is still ongoing. Kirk has been survived by his wife Erika Frantzive, and their daughter, 3, and son, 1.

“With a heavy heart we, Turning Point USA’s leadership team, are writing to inform him that Charlie early this afternoon, has taken his eternal reward with Jesus Christ in heaven,” read the statement.
President Donald Trump Kirk’s death was also reported in office through Truth Social.
“The big, and even legendary, Charlie Kirk, has died,” wrote Trump, 79. “No one understood or had the heart of the youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by all, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my sympathy go out to his beautiful wife Erika Love you! ”

“We love you, Charlie,” wrote Cameron Bure, 49, through Instagram. “Well done, good and loyal servant.”
