The worst floods of Bali over the decade are killed 14

At least 14 people in Bali in Indonesia were killed in what officials say is the worst floods on the island in ten years.

Heavy rains caused heavy floods in most of the island, causing the rivers to break their shores. Now the rain has stopped and the water level recedes, but rescuers are still looking for survivors. There are two people in the denposar where eight deaths occurred.

On Tuesday, hundreds of residents were evacuated when their homes were shipped. The main roads were closed by landslides, and at least two bridges were damaged.

“People were shocked here. The flood was so bad,” said Bali Bbc News Indonesia resident. “I thought there was sufficient drainage in Bali.”

The province government has announced a weekly emergency state.

The President of the Subsonian expressed his deep condolences for the flood in a Wednesday statement. The President instructed all the relevant agencies to act “quickly” and emphasized the need for “target assistance”, his secretary of the cabinet said.

Neman Sidakaria, Head of Searching and Rescue Bali, said a local news agency BetweenThe rescue groups had “difficulties with access to flooded sites”.

“Floods are everywhere, even trucks can barely pass,” he said.

Authorities said two people were killed by electric current and were swept away by the present, in the southwest of Bali in Jembran.

Eight other victims were found in Gianjara, which were found dead in the denposar, Bali’s capital, and three were found. One person died in Badung District.

At least 85 people were evacuated to temporary shelters in the Jembran area in the southwest of Bali, while two buildings collapsed in the denposar.

Bali is not the only island in Indonesia, which affected flood flashes and heavy rainfall.

At least three people were killed, two were injured, and four were reported missing in the neighboring Eastern Nusa -Tegari province, according to a Tuesday.

More than 385 mm of rain was recorded at the climate station.

Popular tourist zones have also been severely affected when hotels and businesses fight the violation. Officials in some areas say garbage is killed by drainage systems, which worsens the floods. The island has long fought with waste treatment and poor infrastructure.

Bali remains under a serious warning about the weather, although it is expected that the rains will be less intense over the island from Thursday.

Amatans and flood outbreaks are not uncommon for the Indonesian archipelago, especially during the rainy season, and climate change has aggravated the situation, officials say.
