Charlie KirkLast words included a debate on the subject of a gun violence a few seconds before he was shot fatally.
Kirk was speaking at a campus event at the University of Utah Valley on Wednesday, September 10, as part of his American Comeback tour. According to a shared video through NeatKirk discussed a student about the moments of guns violence before he was shot.
“Do you know how many transgender Americans have been mass shooters over the past 10 years?” A member of the audience asked Kirk.
Kirk responded, “Too much.”
The Debater explained that five transgender individuals have started a mass shooting in the United States over the past decade. The person then asked Kirk who knew how many total mass shooters have been in the last 10 years.
“Count or not count gang violence?” Kirk asked.
Seconds later, Kirk appeared to have been shot in the neck. According to CNN, the shot was taken from nearly 200 yards away.
Later that day it was confirmed that Kirk died after be in critical condition. It was 31.
“With a heavy heart we, Turning Point USA’s leadership team, are writing to inform you that Charlie early this afternoon, has taken his eternal reward with Jesus Christ in heaven,” read a statement of Turning Point, a Kirk political conservative organization established at the age of 18.
Kirk has been survived by his familyconsisting of his wife, Erika Frantzveand their two young children.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox He initially confirmed that a a person of interest in custody during a press conference and referred to the tragic incident as “political murder.”
“We have a person of interest in custody currently being interviewed,” said Cox.
FBI Director Kash Patel Later through X the person had been released following questioning.
“The subject in custody has been released after questioning by law enforcement,” Patel wrote. “Our investigation is ongoing and we will continue to release information for the benefit of transparency.”
Kirk was best known as a controversial conservative media personality. In addition to his work with a turning point, Kirk was a host of her podcast “The Charlie Kirk Show.” Kirk was one of the voices in support of President Donald Trump During the 2016, 2020 and 2024 election. The President paid his respect to the late personality on -lein on Wednesday.
“The big, and even legendary, Charlie Kirk, has died,” Trump wrote in a statement. “No one understood or had the heart of the youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by everyone, especially me, and now he is no longer with us. Melania and my sympathy go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and her family. Charlie, we love you!”
