Paine broke down in tears as he showed Bates that Brooklyn also took a picture of her mother holding baby Henry, born in August.
“Be strong for them,” Paine whispered to Bates, planting a kiss on his cheek.
Bates, in response, added tearfully that she “lost” her children.
“I miss them too,” replied her husband.
In the post’s header, Paine noted that the couple “want to forget” Brooklyn’s heartfelt letter.
“Being away from our babies has been harder than we ever imagined,” read the headline. “Our hearts are pains to be together again.”

Three days later, Bates suffered a serious stroke before slowly regaining her strength.
“With tears in our eyes, we praise the Lord that we are on the way to recovery,” Paine wrote through Instagram on Saturday, September 6. “Your prayers have definitely touched on heaven.”
Bates has been transfer to another medical facility for further treatment.
