Big Brother alum Tyler Crispin is great for surprises – like revealing that he has just got engaged and welcomed his first baby!
“The best kept secret ever,” Crispen, 29, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, January 14, alongside pictures of his newborn daughter, Carter Rae Crispen, who was born on Sunday, January 12. “Your mother and I love you more than anything in the world this.”
Crispen, who was runner-up on season 20 of the CBS reality series, called his daughter “the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.” Although he did not reveal the identity of the mother, he surprised his followers further by referring to his partner as his “fiancée” while thanking his loved ones for their continued support. She also shared a small polaroid of the duo, labeling it, “Mom & Dad!”
“My fiancé (oh yes, double surprise) wants to thank all of our close friends and family for helping us keep this little secret and giving her and us all the love,” he continued. “I’m the luckiest guy on the planet.”
He added, “P.S. Have you ever seen a harder launch?”
The reality star also added photos of Carter via her Instagram Stories, calling her “My Everything,” and adding “Girl Dad” to her bio.
Comrade Crispen Big Brother alumni quickly took to his comments section to congratulate him on his array of exciting news. Second place season 21 Holly Allen he wrote, “This is the way to launch 👏 That smile on the last picture is too cute. Congratulations!!!” while Dana Briones he added, “Tyler! Congratulations. Women are the besssstt. So happy for you three!! 🩷🩷🩷.”
Earlier this month, Crispen spoke briefly about his new romance while appearing on the “The Unique With Sharon Tharp” podcast, sharing what went behind the decision to keep his relationship out of the spotlight.
“It’s something we talked about early on. If anything it strengthens the connection because it can be difficult for someone who is in the public eye to be with someone who is not,” he explained. “And I remember how hard it was for me to be pushed into that at first. It’s crazy to go from hearing opinions about yourself from your friends and family to going on the show, you come out, and you hear opinions thrown at you 24/7 on a scale big It’s not easy to deal with.”
Crispen had been engaged before to his Big Brother costar Angela Rummans. The pair hit the road in 2018 and eventually bought a home together in South Carolina. In January 2021, Crispen proposed during a trip to the beach.
“You make every day seem like a dream come true and I am now officially the luckiest person on the face of the Earth,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “I will love you to infinity and beyond.”
The duo eventually called it quits after four years together in December 2022. Crispen later addressed the split, saying Us Weekly only that the exes would always be be “friends.”
“I’m not a big believer in burning bridges because it was such a big part of my life and I don’t want to have to look back on those memories and have a sour taste in my mouth,” he explained. “She will always have a special place with me, and I think she knows that. I think maintaining friendships with exes is fine, everyone. It can work out.”
