The former world champion of two divisions Valdez (32-3, 24 kos) seeks to save his career after losing two of his last three fights since 2022. This struggle is a must for the 34-year-old Valdez. Medina has lost to Raymond Ford, Geo Lopez and George Acosta in the last three years. He traveled the distance in a unanimous loss of decision of ten rounds to Ford on June 25, 2022. He did not win a round, but he still survived the whole fight without being stopped by Raymond. It was impressive.

Valdez’s search for a title

“In the boxing, I have had my ups and downs. The main goal for me right now is to be again world champion,” said Oscar Valdez. “I want to return to Nogales as a world champion and I want to be your champion. I have to overcome this struggle.

“I am taking this struggle very seriously. I respect Ricky Medina a lot. I have seen her fight. She is strong and young, and she has the same dream I have. All the boxers want to convert -in the world champions and that’s why we are all here. I am focused on doing what I have to do, which is to win.

“I have to make it clear in this struggle that will continue to fight for a world title. I want to be world champion again.”
