Dan Burn has “nothing more than good wishes” for Alexander Isak after the transfer of British records from Newcastle United striker in Liverpool.
Isak completed a switch of 125 million pounds in Anfield on the day of the deadline, ending a long and controversial transfer saga.
The Sweden International had refused to form or play Newcastle as he intended to force -through his movement, and published a statement that stated that his relationship could not continue, accusing the club of breaking -the promises they made.
Newcastle had insisted that they would not sell their talisman, but with Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa coming as replacements, they agreed to agree for Isak to join the champions defenders of the Premier League.
The Magpies published a statement of 37 words announcing the movement, which made no reference to their goals or their contributions to Newcastle winning the EFL Cup last season.
Isak posted on Instagram thanking the club And Newcastle fans for “three unforgettable years”, while teammates like Anthony Gordon and Sven Botman paid tribute to Isak on social media on his departure.
And, speaking ahead of the world of England Cup with Andorra, Newcastle Center-Back Burn made it clear that there were no difficult feelings from its point of view.
“I am happy to be done,” Burn said to a press conference in the saga that had dominated the summer.
“We wanted the transfer window to close to have a little clarity. I have been to football enough time to understand that for a player, the races are short and they have things they want to achieve.
“Alex is a colleague and it is a difficult situation because you want to be around and help the team, but he also understands what he needs to do personally. I have nothing but good wishes for Alex.
“There is no animosity. As a newcastle fan, we are very protectors of our club and the city and we want the players to be there who want to play Newcastle and you will not want them to naively think that there is anyone else that comes out of Newcastle. So I understand why our fans are frustrated.
“I wish Alex the best apart from when we play Liverpool obviously.”
