Caitlin Clark is about to lose the rest of the Wnba season after suffering an AFL injury in July.
“I had hoped to share a better update, but I won’t return to play this season,” wrote Clark, 23, in Instagram After late Thursday, September 4, alongside black-and-white illustrations of her and her fellow players. “I spent hours in the gym every day with the individual goal of going back out, disappointing is not a big enough word to describe how I feel.”
Indiana’s fever’s point guard continued, “I want to thank everyone who got my back through all the uncertainties. This has been incredibly frustrated, but even in the evil, there’s good. The way the fans continued to show me, and for the fever, so much joy and an important perspective came to me. I’m so proud of how this team is strong this year.”
“Now it’s time to exclude the season and claim our place in the Playoffs🖤,” Clark concluded.
Clark has not been seen on the court since July 15, when he experienced a right injury in the final seconds of the fever’s game against the sun Connecticut, per Espnat.
In a joint mail shared by the WNBA Instagram fever and accounts on July 17, Clark confirm She would have to sit out the All-Star Wnba game and a 3 point competition.
“I’m so excited for Indy to host Wnba All-Star this weekend,” he said in a statement. “I want to thank the Indianapolis host committee and all the people who have put in endless work over the past year to put this event together. I know this will be the best All-Star yet.”
He added, “I am extremely sad and disappointed to say that I cannot take part in the 3-point match or the All-Star game. I have to rest my body. I will still be Cainbridge Fieldhouse for all the action and I look forward to helping Sandy (Brondello) train our team to win.”
