Like many of her fans, Taylor Swift and her discography has long become an important part of my personal history. She even became an unexpected source of inspiration at the time of her career.
I left the job as a aerospace engineer and space flight designer at NASA to chase MBA at Harvard University, which eventually led to my current way as an economist and investor.
In Harvard, I started thinking about the Swift’s journey through a professional lens. I was managed by one key question: how did the seemingly normal people do unusual things? How will they become these ultra -high unicorn?
After reading a wonderful book by a legal scientist and documentary Paul Davis “Isolated: A Case for Commitment in the Endless View Age“I started to recognize a number of characteristics that are generally very successful people.
In particular, there are seven traits that regularly show Swift.
We are all born with fantasy, but as we age, we often put restrictions between the mind and creative stimuli in the world around us.
Not fast -paced. It turns small sparks such as a phrase, a feeling overwhelmed into the whole world. A great way to do the same way to notice more fragments that catch the eye. Ask yourself why, and then write them down.
Swift realizes that the imagination begins not with invention, but with curiosity. It greatly draws attention to the smallest, most resonant details and construction of the universes.

This is the ability to connect new and old ideas and thoughts through creativity. Creating synthesis requires courage because the imitation of the world is either to do things that are not easy for others.
The results of the synthesis of the synthesis speak for themselves. Her iconic song “Death by a Thousand Cut” was actually inspired by the failure of the woman’s relationship in the romantic comedy “Some Someone”.
But the most famous example of Swift’s skill to synthesis is “Love History”. She transformed and rethink Shakespeare’s romantic tragedy “Romeo and Juliet” into history with a vivid, happy ending.
The focus is on making your purpose a part of your creature itself. Swift did not release makeup and fashion brand. You don’t see how it argues in things that are not important to her. The performance and writing of the songs were her main priorities from teenagers.
And she was completely focused on being the best in these things.
To sharpen your attention, ask yourself: Does it move closer to my main goal, or is it just a noise? Saying “will not be distracted” – this is not a loss; This is a way of appointing and protecting the energy required to deepen where it is most important.
A degree is the ability to continue to do something or continue to fight for it before difficulty.
Remember these points on stage when Swift was sick, exhausted and broken. Times in the era when she was noticeably crying during the song, when the pouring rain did it the way she swimed, and when she performed the same set of one million times.
However, she still acted as if it were the best, most monumental night in her life. Even when unicorns feel that they are not all the time and passion, they are usually very good in what they pretend until they can return it again.
Passion continues to admire, even if you did something for a while or after he lost shine. The passion and independence seem to intersect that they both require endurance and stability.
To return your own passion, connect to “why” for what you do. Ask yourself that you first attracted you, and find small ways to reopen this joy, whether through experiments, rethinking or perseverance.
This is the ability to be excited and deeply respecting something.
It is usually difficult to stay hot when the object of your passion does not give you inner happiness and surprise, the feeling that there is something more in the world than you are and all that is in front of you.
Honor is fueled by your purpose, which then fueled your passion and thus allows you to give something.
The last trait is a commitment, in particular, in the context to give up all optional in the pursuit of this. It is a commitment to recording music and touring university or any other career path for Swift.
Real commitment often requires sacrifice. Ask yourself: What am I willing to give up this goal can live? If something is optional, it feels safe. But greatness is built by those who are ready to bet on what they love most.
This commitment is manifested in the ability of the swift to always and forever, to put music in the first place.
