Here we are‘ Sterling K. Brown Stars side by side Ernest Kingsley Jr. in Washington BlackA new historical adventure series based on Esi Edugyan’s A popular novel of the same name. Spanning two timelines, the story follows Washington “Wash” Black (Kingsley), a young black man with a gift for science and aeronautics, on Globetrotting’s adventure in the early 19th century after he escaped slavery. The novel explored the themes of freedom, friendship and identity – and based on the spectacular aftermath, the show will be just as powerful.
The rest of the ensemble’s cast contains Tom Ellis (Lucifer)) Rupert’s graves (The war of the worlds). Washington Black Looks likely to be an emotional coaster roller, so bring your tissues.
