San Francisco Star 49ers George Kittle forced to distance from a quote attributed wrongly about the death of the political activist Charlie Kirk.
Kittle, 31, responded to a post done by the Red and Gold Legacy Account Via Facebook On Tuesday, September 16, he allegedly quoted the tight end of the supermarket.
“I love a football because he unites people,” read the quote. “But lately, I’ve seen politics dragging into it far too often. Charlie Kirk may matter to some, but he has no place in the NFL. Football is for the fans, the competition, and the love of the game – not about politics.
“A pair of things… This is a fake quote,” Kittle responded Through her Instagram story On Wednesday, September 17. “Also, that above just posts fake news/reports, so ignore them.”
He continued, “He made the wild messages I accept from people I had to address. Have a good night.”
The Facebook post in question has over 4,000 people like, over 600 comments and is shared over 300 times.
“At least someone on the team is ready to step up,” one comment read on the fake post. “There are some on the team who admired the ideology of Kirk.”
He read another comment, “It is not political at this point. It is about humanity. And those who oppose him have little humanity left. This world has been spinning.”

Kirk was shot and killed during speaking engagement at Utah Valley University on September 10. He was 31.
The late political commentator was honored before the 49ers match against the New Orleans Saints at Superdome Caesars New Orleans on Sunday, September 14.
Before Kickoff, a moment of silence was held for Kirk and everyone else affected by gun violence.
The 49ers have not played a home game since Kirk’s death. They are hosting the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, September 21. The franchise has not announced if they intend to honor Kirk at any time before or during the game.
Kittle has not played since suffering a hamstring injury during the first half of the 49ers week’s week’s game against the Seattle Seahawks on September 7.
He was placed on an injured reserve on September 9, meaning he will miss the game on Sunday against the Cardinals, September 28 game against the Jaguars Jackuars and the team’s October 2 game against the Los Angeles Rams Thursday night’s football.
Kittle is eligible to return to Lineup 49ers on October 12, when the team travels to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers.
