3 under-fulfilled sci-fi movies you should watch in May 2025

Sci-fi is greater than Star Warsaliens and murderer robots. Science fiction writers and directors may be traffic in the great, but the best sci-fi stories have something to say about the present we live in.

Fortunately, the streaming age has opened the sluice gates for even more sci-fi stories that do not have to break out on the big screen.

If you are looking for tips, Watch with Us has assembled the three under-fulfilled Sci-Fi films that you should watch in May. One film is a recent box office bomb that is sure to be a cult classic soon, another is a neglected 2024 movie that stars an Oscar winner and the last film is one of the best animated films made over the past decade.

‘Mickey 17’ (2025)

Robert Pattinson plays the character of title Mikey 17But he is also Mickey 1-16. In a writer/director Bong joon hoMickey Barnes was just a latest film before he jumped at the opportunity to go into space as a expensive worker. On his way to Interstellar Settlement, Mickey gets all the dangerous jobs and as a result, he dies. Lots. By the time Mickey arrives at his new home, he is already on his 17th clone.

One thing that remains constantly between the clones is Mickey’s feelings towards Nasha Barridge (Naomi Acka), a security agent in his group. There are also very strict rules that require only one clone immediately active. Mickey is going to break that rule, mainly because his friend, Timo (Steven yeun), made a bad decision. But if there is more than one Mickey, which one can live?

Roz even learns to communicate with the animals, including a fox called Fink (Pedro Pascal) and OPOSUMS called Pinktail (Catherine O’Hara). They become her proxy family, as is bright (Connor’s kit), an orphan that Roz adopts. But Roz’s peaceful new life cannot last forever, as its manufacturers have sent another robot, Vontra (Stephanie Hsu), to retrieve by all means.
