Neeson excels in the “old guy gets vengeance” action thriller, and Assertion is the newest entry for the Canon of that Subgenre. Neeson stars as a thug, a former boxer-turner-resort convenor who discovers a neurodegenerative disease that removes his memory. With the clock ticking, Thug tries to reconcile with his daughter and grandson who is disengaged in preparation for one last crime score before retiring.
Relief has plenty of action, but it is more effective as a drama for a man with many options left in life. Thug has plenty of repentance about the choices he made in life, and will do anything to make up for them. This firearms that fire AssertionThird act tension, when thug’s good intentions are a reality. Not everyone has a happy ending, and Thug realizes that there are some sins that no one can forgive.

Payne’s family moved to their new home, so it makes sense that they feel a little unstable.
