‘The Wave’ (2016)

Kristian Geologist (Kristoffer Joner) about to leave the Norwegian Mountain resort where he works before a discovery stopped him from dying in his tracks. He realizes that activity inside a neighboring mountain strongly suggests that an imminent virginity is – and can destroy it in mass. Due to where the mountain is located, the sloping will cause megatsunami that will blanket the destination in a wall of water and drown all its inhabitants. In a race against time, Kristian tries to warn everyone and empty his family before it’s too late.
With its natural disaster plot and emphasis on showing scenes of mass destruction, The wave Looks and sounds like a typical Hollywood barrier. But what separates it from big budget movies like Earthquake with Burt Lancaster and Dante’s peak with Pierce Brosnan is that he never loses focus on his central characters. Kristian is not a stock hero – he is just an ordinary man who is trying to save as many people as he can. Sometimes his good intentions are not sufficient, and you really feel that the high cost of lives is lost. The wave is a striking active scene that never feels cheap or exploitative.

Anna Faris is one of the most talented comedians who work today, but she has never starred in a big enough hit that would put it on the list Julia Roberts or even Dakota Johnson. One of his films that he should be-struck in What is your number?, charming rom-com if silly lasted with the American captain herself, Chris Evans.
Faris stars as an ally, a twenty -thirty woman who is tired of sleeping around and no longer wants to be single. After coming across a former member who has earned his life along with another woman, Ally is determined not to sleep with any newer men and look up all his past lovers in the hope of finding one who is now a wedding material. Next door a Colin woman (Evans) agrees to help him, but somewhere along the way, their friendship turns into something bigger. Will an alliance abandon her “No new men” rule to give Colin a chance? And will Colin stop sleeping around to commit to an ally?

It’s a standard ROM-COM plot, and the finale will not surprise anyone who has ever seen a movie-any film-before. But What is your number? Works because of Maris and Evans, who radiate the old Hollywood charisma with a modern edge. They play slightly bruised characters by love, and just want to find someone who will accept them for who they are: a little in vain, a little neurotic, but really good. The film is satisfactory in a way that only big Hollywood films can be, which is why it was much more difficult that this was not popular back in 2011.
