3 arrested after protest Portland turns into a federal icy building

A few riots in Portland, OregonThey were arrested on Saturday evening after the planned protests were entered by the riot near the immigration and customs authorities (ICE) and left four officers.

Three people were arrested after the officers responded to the “criminal activity” that took place near the federal building in the surrounding area, South Portland, Bureau of Police Portland (PPB) said at the press -release at the beginning of Sunday.

“The arrests were strictly focused on criminal acts, not on constitutionally protected free speech,” the PPB said. “Persons engaged in violent activity or destruction of property will be investigated and arrested and persecuted.”

At 13 o’clock there was a riot after a protest “without kings” took place in the city, which officials called the “large -scale collection of free speech” by tens of thousands who march at the demonstration.

Police responded to a federal institution before 6pm, learning that the federal officer was injured by the crowd, PPB said. PPB told the crowd that the medical event was reported within IceWarning the crowd does not interfere with the medical response.

Police said the officers learned after stabilizing the situation that a federal officer did not need treatment.

The PPB then announced a riot of a permanent criminal activity in the area.

The 20 -year -old Tyson Kanert was arrested at about 10:50 pm after the police saw a man threw a stone into the ice building, PPB said. The canta was charged with a first -degree crime, two articles for attempting to attack public security officer, two persecution articles that impede the peace officer and escape to the third degree.

The 38 -year -old Cora Oen was arrested around 1am on Sunday after he noticed how he had taken the movement control tools across the area and placing them in his truck, PPB said. Police said Oen was arrested for first degree stealing and driving intoxicated.

All three were booked in the Multoma district detention center.

Police noted that more arrests were possible if the investigation continues.

“Only because the arrests are not carried out at the scene, if the tension is high, it does not mean that they are later not accused of crimes,” the PPB said.
