Peacock Just added one of the best chargers of 2025 – and you probably haven’t even heard of it.
DistilTechnological Tension Excitement Film Starring Meghann fahy (The white lotus, sirens), without making huge box office numbers, but we expect it to be – pun intended – a murderer on streaming.
The film currently has a “fresh” score of 84 percent on Rotten tomatoesAnd Fahy’s status as a rising star should help drive it to viral success.
Watch with us Breaks down the reasons you should stream this exciting movie, which also stars 1923 standout Brandon Sklenar.

Distil Starts with a simple, relatively low default: Violet’s single mother (Fahy) goes on her first date since her husband’s death. The date takes a terrible turn, however, when Violet starts receiving unknown digital drops to her phone telling her that she has to murder her date, Henry (Sklenar). With this unusual default, Distil Takes something that is already scary – dating – and builds on it.
“Going back out there” after a relationship ends for any reason is always shocking, but Violet’s experience is particularly complicated (even before the drops start). She mourns the loss of her son’s father, but her late husband (Michael Shea) aggressively, leaving her with contrasting feelings about relationships in general.
There are already so many things for her to fear. Will she like Henry in real life? (They’ve been chatting on a dating app for months.) If the relationship starts, will Henry come together with her son? And is she really ready to make herself open to love after being with such a poisonous partner?
By raising the poles of this date, writers Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roachtogether with a director Christopher Landondramatize how dangerous the inquest for love can sometimes feel. (If you are in the dating scene, you may be comforted knowing that this exact scenario is very unlikely to happen to you.)
Even the title of the movie, DistilFeels like a metaphor for dating – you have to jump to the unknown, not knowing what you expect as you fall.
Meghann Fahy in Drop
General Photos /Everett Courtesy CollectionPlenty of horror films and chargers make technology itself a villain. But while Distil Using the concept of dropping content to a stranger phone as part of his story, isn’t it too simple “What if your mobile phone tried to kill you?” narrative.
Technology is also a positive force in the film, connecting Henry and Violet, which shares a valid connection after a meeting via an app.
Thing Distil Also doing well, pointing out that vulnerability is “related” continuously makes us with bad actors. It is a reminder of the importance of cyber security – without being preaching or completely condemning technology.

We’ve been Fahy Supporters since The bold typeAnd it is a pleasure to see her recognized in the mainstream of Hollywood. She nails “dreaded but tries to behave normal” throughout the film, and Violet feels refreshing different from Daphne The white lotus or Devon in Siren.
Like Violet, Fahy is allowed to play a vulnerable woman who finds her inner strength in terrifying circumstances. It’s one of its first big lead film roles – and it’s just as fun and clever as the popular shows that make it a star.

Jason Struss, Watch with us’ Team of Writers and Editors and Editors and TV Show from the Distant Past to the Present to Determine What’s Worth Your Time and Money. Our unimaginative hours of multimedia – along with years of experience in the entertainment industry – help us determine the best films and TV shows that you should be streaming right now. To be considered “the best,” these films and series can be visually engaged, intellectually stimulating or just fun to watch, but the same feature they have to have is that they are all, in some way, entertaining. We will then check which platform they stream on and how you can access them as a subscriber. No algorithm nonsense or paid certifications here – our recommendations are based solely on our love and interest for the movies and shows we love.
